About the job Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift
The Maintenance Technician will perform a wide variety of skilled mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks to support manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and plant facilities. This is a moderately physical position requiring hands-on technical work.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and combustion malfunctions.
Implement effective repairs to prevent reoccurrence of equipment issues.
Navigate and interpret ladder logic in SLC 500, PLC 5, and ControlLogix software.
Modify and diagnose ABB robot models (M94, M98, M2000, M2600, M6700).
Install, move, and align new and existing manufacturing equipment.
Operate machine shop equipment with moderate accuracy and efficiency.
Perform gas and electric welding operations.
Maintain accurate machine repair records and a clean, organized work area.
Conduct preventive and proactive maintenance on all plant equipment.
Complete other tasks as assigned by supervision or team leads.
Skills Required:
Proficiency in troubleshooting using PLCs (SLC 500, PLC 5, ControlLogix)
ABB robotics: Position modification and diagnostics (models M94M6700)
Welding: Gas and electric operations
Diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues
Reading and interpreting schematics (electrical and hydraulic)
Experience Required:
Minimum of 4 years in:
Allen Bradley PLC systems
Hydraulics
ABB Robotics
Welding
Proven ability to troubleshoot die casting machine cells using schematics and PLC systems.
Education Required:
Completion of technical or vocational courses, or
Some college coursework in a relevant field
